Installing WhatsApp is slightly different for different devices and operating systems, but in general you will go to your usual application store and download this app just like any other.

Install WhatsApp for Android

For Android smartphones (unfortunately you can’t install WhatsApp mobile on Android tablets), go to the Google Play Store, click on the search button and enter “WhatsApp”. Find the correct app among the results list (it will most likely be the first option), tap on it to do to the app’s page, where you can get more information about the app and read user reviews. Click on the “Install” button and then click “accept” when it asks for your permission.

If for some reason your Android doesn’t have Play Store, you can still install WhatsApp by going online from your phone and looking for the WhatsApp APK file. You will have to allow your device to download from “Unknown Sources” in order to install the file directly without any problems. You can do this in your phone’s security settings.

Install WhatsApp for BlackBerry

For BlackBerry phones, go to “AppWorld” (the app section of BlackBerry World), which can be found in your BlackBerry menu. When AppWorld is open, you’ll see a search box; type in “WhatsApp” and then click the “Search” button; be careful, because there are some applications with similar names, but you can recognize it from the official logo (a bright green circle with a white phone icon inside).

Install WhatsApp on iPhone

To download WhatsApp on your iPhone, open the iTunes App Store and sign in (if prompted) by entering your Apple ID and password. Press on the search icon, and in the search box type “WhatsApp”. When you find it in the list of apps, select it to go to the WhatsApp details screen and press on the blue button in the corner to download the application.

Alternatively, you can download WhatsApp in the iTunes App Store on your laptop and then send it to your iPhone via sync or USB connection.

Install WhatsApp on Windows Phone

On your Windows Phone, open the Marketplace application that should have come with your Windows Phone. You may be able to find it on your home screen or in your list of installed applications. In Marketplace, select “Apps” and you will see a search box. Type “WhatsApp” into the search box and find the official WhatsApp app in the list of results. Press on it to get the app detail screen and choose “Install” to start downloading, and wait for the application to finish downloading.

Set up WhatsApp on all devices

When your device has finished downloading WhatsApp, open it and agree to the terms (if prompted). After that, WhatsApp will ask for your phone number, which is linked to your account instead of a username. Enter your number carefully because WhatsApp will send an SMS message for verification. Verification may occur automatically or you may have to wait for the text message and enter the verification code; if this doesn’t work, ask to receive a phone call with the code. After the code is confirmed, your account is ready to go! All you need to do now is enter your name so that your friends can find you, and after that you have the option to choose a profile picture. WhatsApp will scan your phone’s contacts and see if any of them are also using WhatsApp; if they are, they’ll be automatically added to your WhatsApp contacts too. Now you’re all set up and can start chatting! WhatsApp is free to install and the first year of service is free; after that, it’s less than a dollar a year (just make sure to stay connected to Wi-Fi to avoid any data charges from your cell provider). And remember, WhatsApp service is completely unlimited and you’ll never see any annoying advertisements.

WhatsApp iPad

The instant messaging application WhatsApp is the most popular application of its kind on the planet. With WhatsApp, you can send and receive messages, share pictures, video and other media files, and share your location with your friends and family. You can even make free voice calls! WhatsApp makes it very easy to stay in touch without paying any overage bills by using your Wi-Fi connection whenever possible to send and receive information; if you’re not connected to Wi-Fi and your settings allow it, WhatsApp will use your mobile data so that you never miss a message. One of the really useful features of WhatsApp is the group message option; you can maintain a conversation with up to 100 different contacts, and it is a very reliable way to exchange messages with more than one friend at a time.

WhatsApp for iOS

Apple may be the most famous electronics company, and arguably one of the most famous corporations in general. Despite the comparatively small number of mobile devices it manufactures (compared to Android phones, for example) It controls the largest share of mobile market. Apple mobile devices, like the iPhone and iPad, use the iOS operating system. And if you have an iPhone, downloading WhatsApp is extremely easy and simply involves you going into the App Store and installing it just like any other application.

Using WhatsApp on iPad would be a very exciting experience, with a bigger keyboard that would make it comfortable to write and type messages, and a larger screen to read them and see the picture and video files that your friends have shared with you.

The problem with the iPad devices is that WhatsApp is only supported on mobile phones; not only does the application require a phone number verification, but it’s a smart app that can check the identity of the device you are using. But don’t worry! You can still enjoy WhatsApp on your iPad, it just takes a little workaround. Installing WhatsApp on your iPad is easier than you might expect, and you won’t even need to jailbreak your iPad. You will need to have your PC or Mac computer and an iPhone handy.

Install WhatsApp for iPad

To download WhatsApp on your iPad, first power up your laptop or desktop computer (Mac or Windows are both fine). Then, open the iTunes store on your computer (in case you don’t have it, you’ll need to download it from the Apple website and install it). In iTunes, search for “WhatsApp”, and once you find it, download it to your PC or Mac; this operation is important to get the WhatsApp.ipa file, which is the file extension that your iPad (and iPhone) reads to run applications.

In Windows, go to C:\Users\Your Username\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Mobile Applications\

For Mac: ~/Music/iTunes/iTunes, or simply type WhatsApp in you explorer search bar.

Then, copy the WhatsApp file to the desktop.

Now we will need another tool called iFunBox, which you can download from the web. Once you’ve finished installing it,open it and connect your iPad to your computer so iFunBox can detect it. Select  “iFunBox  Classic”, where  you can see your iPad. Now click the button that says “Install App”; browse and select the WhtasApp.ipa file that you copied to the desktop earlier. The application will be installed on your iPad, but the process is not finished yet; you still need to activate it, and if you launch it right now you will see a sign that your device is not supported.

If your iPad isn’t jailbroken, you’ll need the computer again as well as an iPhone that doesn’t have WhatsApp installed on it. Open iFunBox again, install (or reinstall) WhatsApp on the iPhone and use the number that you want to use with iPad to activate it. Disconnect your iPad and connect your iPhone to the computer, and when iFunBox detects it, go to “Classic” where you can see the connected devices and you should see “Apps” displayed. Choose “WhatsApp”, select the folders “Library” and “Documents” and copy them to desktop, and finally disconnect your iPhone and reconnect the iPad.

From iFunBox Classic, choose your iPad, then click “User Applications”. Select WhatsApp and copy the folders that you copied to your desktop to iFunBox apps folder.

Congratulations, you just tricked WhatsApp into thinking your iPad is an iPhone! You can disconnect your iPad and launch WhatsApp and get started chatting.
